Occhiali
Le lenti di qualità devono essere afocali, a TOTALE PROTEZIONE dai raggi UV, e devono FILTRARE la luce visibile in proporzione alla categoria (solitamente da 1 a 4; per uso su ghiacciaio è necessaria la categoria 4.
Il COLORE della lente non ha solo una valenza estetica ma deve essere scelto in base all'uso. Per esempio, vetri arancio sono adatti alla bassa luminosità e alla nebbia in quanto aumentano il contrasto, il rosa definisce il dettaglio e il grigio ha una buona resa dei colori. La specchiatura riflette ulteriormente la luce visibile e il calore.
